These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of OrgIndex (the "Service"), operated by [COMPANY / OPERATOR NAME] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
OrgIndex provides IP address and network ownership lookup, organisation search, and related data aggregated from public internet registry sources (RIRs, RDAP, BGP, GLEIF, and similar). A limited amount of data is available without an account; full access to certain features requires a registered account and, for some features, a paid subscription.
2. Accounts
You must provide an accurate email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account and API keys. Notify us promptly at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis via our payment processor (Stripe) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account's billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to, and not to permit or assist anyone else to:
- circumvent, disable, or interfere with rate limits, usage caps, or paywall restrictions applied to your account, API key, or IP address;
- use automated means (scraping, crawling, bulk scripted requests, or similar) to extract data from the Service beyond what your account tier and API key are entitled to;
- resell, republish, sublicense, or redistribute Service data, in bulk or as a substantial part of the dataset, to build or supply a competing product or dataset;
- reverse engineer the Service's entity-resolution methodology for the purpose of replicating it at scale;
- share your account credentials or API keys with third parties, or use the Service on behalf of an unauthorised third party;
- use the Service in violation of applicable law, including data protection and export control law.
We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts or API keys that violate this section, and may pursue other remedies available to us.
5. Data Accuracy
Service data is aggregated from public sources and may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. You are responsible for independently verifying any data before relying on it for decisions with legal, financial, or security consequences.
6. Intellectual Property
The underlying public facts referenced by the Service (e.g., which organisation holds a given IP range) are not owned by us. However, the Service's compilation, organisation, entity-resolution processing, and presentation of that data constitute our proprietary work product and/or database, protected to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights beyond the ordinary, non-bulk use of the Service consistent with Section 4.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your account settings.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including decisions made in reliance on Service data.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
